Nope, no functional difference.

d/(dx)[f(x)] simply emphasizes that it is the derivative with respect to x, and that the function differentiated is f(x).

(df(x))/(dx) is a more compact way of saying "the derivative of f(x) with respect to x", and is more similar to (dy)/(dx), with y = f(x).
